Oh well as it was my idea to start this I might as well go first. Can I first say a big thank you to all the members of this new forum and the more information put on it the better we become. My name is Ken Lipscombe I have just moved from Yateley near Blackbushe to Egham near Heathrow. Interested in most things aviation and a very keen photographer can normally be found at one of the local fields with my good old canon camera in hand. You wont see many logs from me as my first passion is taking photographs and numbers second. I also use SBS and Planeplotter at home which is on 24/7. If anyone wants to have a look at my photos they are at www.flickr.com/photos/23071306@N08/ Enjoy the forum big thanks to Andy and Dave for all there hard work as well. Ken

Hi folks. My name is Tom Marshall.i live and work in Petworth West Sussex.I am a well travelled airliner and bizjet spotter ( I'm off to Phoenix this week for a Super Bowl bizjet bash). Working outside allows me to do a lot of spotting, many Farnborough inbounds pass over me so I can sometimes give a heads-up on arrivals. rgds Tom.

My name is Bob but I use the name Filair. I live in Bristol so I doubt if I can contribute much to this site. I do take the occasional photograph but am not on Flickr,Facebook etc. Lasham and Blackbushe are of most interest to me although I very rarely visit either of them. I just like to see what is going on generally and watch some of the more interesting overflights, mainly to/from Heathrow.

Brendan McCartney, aged 70. Long retired Heathrow Air Traffic Controller and lifelong spotter. Since losing my beloved wife in 2012 - who was also a keen spotter - I have reduced my activities considerably. I visit Blackbushe occasionally to photograph anything of interest.

A regular from the previous board and medically retired NATS ATCO ex Luton/West Drayton & Swanwick. My last roll involved delivering licence required ememrgency training for over 800 ATCOs at Swanwick. Due to a horrific vestibular imbalance I have had to hang my headset up at the age of 51!

Hi Andy Harkin (andypspotter) here. Another member of the Knaphill aviation enthusiast 'massiv'!
I've been 'spotting' since 1980, but I reckon my first airshow was probably the 1970 Battle of Britain air display at RAF Finningley. Yeadon, Ringway and Squires Gate were also childhood haunts, before and after I started spotting proper.
Now an Eelmoor regular, I also get out n about further afield when the kids allow.

Some may know me from Popham (particularly the 1990s / early 2000s when I was compiling the Popham movements from the booking-in sheets for the Solent Aviation Society's Osprey magazine) though I've been interested in aircraft for much longer than that, like over 50 years! I began 'spotting' in 1972 after I got my first pair of binoculars courtesy of my dear late mother, who had won the Woman's Realm 'Mum Of The Year' competition. I can still be seen at Popham along with Farnborough, Blackbushe and sometimes other places.

Hi, Most of the Eelmoor regulars will need no introduction from me!! Living in Zebon Copse, Church Crookham, I can see most departures off 24 at Farnborough, and 06 arrivals are very easy, unless there is a very low cloud base. I visit Farnborough at some point of the day-most days; depending on my shift work pattern. (I work near Gatwic). I don`t tend to visit Fairoaks, but Lasham & Blackbushe are of definite interest.
I do a mix of photography and spotting, inc dot-spotting, thanks to the technologoies of FR24 and Planefinder. More intersted in `heavy metal` than `tin`.
Best Wishes with success for this group, and for getting it off the ground so quickly.
rgds Geoff

Hello Everyone I am Dave Fogwill and have been spotting since I was a very young child in 1966 (a very good year). It's a family hobby as I learnt from my father and my brother, Colin is a globetrotting spotter. I gave up for a while when I discovered girls and foolishly threw out my old logs. Started again whilst on a family holiday in Florida in 1989 and have been "at it" ever since. I've had my trusty SBS-1 for nearly 9 years, am a groundstation for PlanePlotter and a feeder into Flightradar 24. I've been lucky to have travelled far and wide, latterly with my good friend "Feeves". All my older trips were done with my father Eric who has always been my inspiration but sadly passed away in December 2013, some of you may have been fortunate to have met him. I miss him terribly. We travelled all over Europe, did our first Paris Air Show in 1971 and our first ILA at Hannover in 1972. In more recent years, we toured the Czech Republic and Hungary, the TomTom being a massive help. Surely one of the best inventions ever? We even toured the far East in 2011, taking in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China and Japan. The visa entry clerk at Jakarta couldn't believe dad was 84 and travelling the world! It was a trip I will replicate one day in his memory. Major trips planned this year are 8 days in Florida in June with Feeves and hoping that Jamie will come with me to Moscow in August for the MAKS show and museums. My interests are just about anything that flies but what I think I like most is museums and warbirds in particular. Shows like Flying Legends, Oshkosh and Sun 'n' Fun will always be in my memory. Like Ken, I love my photography and have nearly 20,000 photos on Flickr. If you're interested, look at www.flickr.com/photos/34709414@N02/sets/My weapons of choice are Canon, I have an EOS60D and an EOS6D with lenses from the 'L' family, the best money ever spent. I work in digital photography but at the wrong end, printing. I'm determined to get out and about more this year. I'll be at my regular shows, Fairford, Popham Microlights (I love it there!), LAA Rally, AeroExpo plus of course, local fields such as Farnborough, Blackbushe, Fairoaks, Heathrow, Northolt and venturing up to Luton occasionally. I'm easy to spot, just look for a fat bloke in a silver estate car, R1FOG. Come over and say hello, I'll talk to anyone. ;-) Dave Central Basingstoke

Hi all , I'm Eric Denison , a regular at Eeelmoor when landings are on 06 . A very keen photographer , I suppose I started to be a common sight at Eelmoor about 7 years ago . My first Farnborough Air Show was 1970 ( when I lived in Guildford )and I have been to every one since . I now live in Aldershot and if I get a heads up that something good is due , I can make it in 12 minutes ( proving there are no obstructions ; red traffic lights/learner drivers/lorries/etc . Like a lot of people on this forum I upload my best pics onto flickr and if interested , please have a look on www.flickr.com/photos/ericdenison . Thanks guys for setting this up , good luck and carry on !! Best wishes , Eric .
