The Finnish Army will return to the Air Tattoo flying display this summer as the air arm has confirmed it will send an NH90 helicopter!
A second aircraft will also join the show in the static display - meaning that visitors will get a chance to see the NH90 in the skies, as well as up-close on the ground. Read more HERE.

The Czech Republic will make a welcome return to the 2018 Air Tattoo to help celebrate 100 years of the Royal Air Force. Representatives for the Czech Air Force this week confirmed that a JAS-39 Gripen and L-159 Advanced Light Combat Aircraft (ALCA) will be taking part in the flying display over the weekend of 13-15 July.
The Czech Air Force performed at the 2017 Air Tattoo with the Gripen and a unique two-ship L-159 demonstration. This year's performance will see them join in the official international celebration of RAF100 - alongside air arms from around the world.
Whilst the Czech Air Force is itself a young organisation, founded in 1993, Czech military aviation dates back to 1918. The current Air Arm succeeded the Czechoslovak Air Force which was active from 1918 to 1992 and the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.

The latest addition to join the international celebration of RAF100 at the 2018 Air Tattoo is the Hellenic Air Force's F-16 demo team, known as 'Zeus'! The return of the solo jet demonstration marks only its third appearance in Britain.
Flying a Block 52+ version of Lockheed Martin's outstanding F-16C Fighting Falcon, itself a variant making its UK flying display debut, 'Zeus' has performed twice before at the Air Tattoo, in 2015 and 2016. On the first of those occasions the specially painted F-16 was awarded the trophy for best aircraft livery at the show. The team is named after the father of the Olympian gods in ancient Greek mythology, and aims to demonstrate the capabilities of the Hellenic Air Force as well as fostering links between the Greek public and its air force, and encourage recruiting.
The initial 'Zeus' demo team was formed by the HAF under the guidance of the US Air Force, giving its debut performance at Tanagra Air Base in November 2010. This season, the display is again being provided by 115 Combat Wing based at Souda on the island of Crete, which has under its command two squadrons of Block 52+ F-16s - some of the most advanced multi-role fighters within NATO. The demonstration pilot for 2018 is Maj Georgios Papadakis.

The team, whose name translates as 'Eagle Patrol', enter 2018 with their first female pilot in their 33 year history. Formed in 1985, the team now comprises seven CASA C-101 jet trainers and performs close formation aerobatic manoeuvres, often ending with their signature formation landing.

RIAT have confirmed that the F-35 Heritage Flight Team will take part in the flying display at the Air Tattoo this July as part of our international celebration to mark 100 years of the Royal Air Force.
This special 'then and now' formation of a veteran warbird; the American P-51D Mustang, teaming up with the U.S. Air Force's latest fifth-generation fighter, the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II, will be a treat for photographers and spectators a like.
The Heritage Flight display will involve a P-51D flown by an USAF Heritage Flight Foundation pilot, more details of both will be confirmed closer to the show. The F-35A pilot is Captain Andrew 'Dojo' Olson, based at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona.
The USAF Heritage Flight programme was established over 20 years ago to bring together civilian-owned warbirds and modern military aircraft. The Air Tattoo will be the only Heritage Flight performance in the UK this year and only one of two displays outside of North America.

Aircraft spanning thirty years of Royal Air Force history have been confirmed for the static display at this year's Air Tattoo, and will be an important part of our commemorations for the RAF Centenary. The Miles Magister (1930s), Auster Mk.5 (1940s) and two Jet Provosts (1950s) are all now in civilian hands but once flew in active RAF service before, during, and in the decade after the Second World War.
All four aircraft are provided by their civilian owners and still wear appropriate RAF colour schemes, showing visitors exactly what the aircraft looked like when in service.

Let's face it, some of the airshow community would complain if the entire Russian Air Force turned up unannounced. I reckon the PM might be jolly cross too!
