There are numerous photo web-hosting sites available (dropbox, google+ photos, flickr, photobucket, picasa, piwigo, smugmug etc...). You can upload your photos to these sites and then embed your photos within your posts using the unique URL for the photo. Alternatively, you can provide a link to the albums you have on your photo-hosting website.

Please ensure that you use the BBCode option which is compatible with the forum. Copy the URL of the photo you wish to share on the photo hosting site. Then within the forum, paste it directly into your post, once again ensuring that you have highlighted the BBCode tab at the bottom of the post (as opposed to the Preview tab). Please note that I tend not to use the Insert Image icon within the toolbar at the top of the post. This tends to cause issues, although I suspect it is 'user error' on my part, rather than some inherent fault.
However, if you find this all 'a bit of a faff', the alternative is to upload your photo files directly onto the forum, as I have done with the banner shot and the photos on the photo recognition thread. However, please note that there is a 1Mb limit on the size of individual photos that you can upload. You are also limited to a maximum of 3 photos per post, although if you have more than 3 photos that you wish to share with us, you can always make multiple posts. Before copying the file on your device, if necessary, edit and crop it. Then if it is still greater than 1Mb, use the resize option available within most photo-editing applications. This can significantly reduce the file size. For example, the the Yak42 photo (sized at 1910x1200 is around 850kb). The file below is around 600Kb. Then add the edited file as an attachment inserted into the post. To see the photo at its original size, simply click on it.
The only other issue associated with adding photos as attachments, as opposed to inserting them via a photo-hosting website, is that the forum has an overall limit on the cumulative size of attachments. Once the limit is reached, you either have to pay for additional capacity, or delete existing content.
Please note that I am no expert, so if anyone has any other useful shortcuts / tips etc... please feel free to share them.
