I remember when there were loads of Mystere IVs languishing at Lakenheath. They must have been there since the end of the lend-lease arrangement the US had with the French. That came to an abrupt end when De Gaulle booted the US military out of France (and its north african territories). Jeez, that bloke certainly had a bad case of memory loss when it came to us and the Americans. Still, he was holed-up at Ashridge in Hertfordshire for much of WWII, and didn't suffer like the French population he conveniently left behind.
