Plus c 12 light including G-TYER Robin, G-UNAC PA32, G-OTYP PA28 and G-EMSS H145 air ambulance. Plus 409 C-130 South African AF – all grey with South African flag and 409 on port side. Plus 8 rudderless ex RAF C-130s stored outside. All roundels, regs and tail numbers/markings painted out. Fighter Control’s list of October C-130 movements at Cambridge dated 24 October lists 27 C-130s present, clearly most inside. No sign of the two USMC C-130s which arrived in October.
The airport is due to close in 2030 when Marshal Aerospace move to Cranfield. The Tiger Moths have already moved to Old Warden and new house developments have started opposite the terminal already within what would have been the previous airport perimeter fence-line.

John Thats sad new John regarding Cambridge seems that quite a few airfields in that area ie Shipdam etc are being earmarked for housing developments- good news for Cranfield I suppose, but bad for local spotters.
