BBC News - Luton Airport flights suspended after large car park fire www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-67073446Looks like the airport will be shut until midday Wednesday (11/10), so I expect cancellations/ diversions could be the order of the day, possibly to neighbouring airfields (maybe even FAB in respect to biz?)

Now closed til 1500 (11/10).
Who'd have thought car park management was so important?

I visited on Monday 26/2. The short term car nearest the tunnel / Holiday Inn express hotel remains open for pre-booked parking only and no problems viewing from it. The adjacent fire impacted northerly car park is now partly dismantled. It looks like a film set or war zone on the top floor with dozens of burnt out cars still present in marked contrast to seemingly undamaged cars on floors below.
Airport car drop off now is at the mid-term car park, then walk to the terminal... a lovely travel experience. The transit to the railway station was operating normally.
I parked in the long term car park where the first hour is free and the second hour is £7 (was £5), before a full day's charge applies. There were several enthusiasts in the long term car park by the Harrods FBO hangar and apron. I took the courtesy bus to the terminal area, then walked back to the car park to escape before my two hours was up. A few interesting Gulfstreams seen - all recorded on the LTN movements blogsite.
