Hi all, after finally finding the time to develop a script to extract data from my SBS box, I am now in a position to create a daily movements summary for Farnborough. Which will get added to the folder for each day.
As stated at the bottom of each file there are some caveats to the reports, these are
Due to the location of my aerial in Fleet not all movements will be trapped by my SBS log. Due to the automated filtering process some departures will be missed, though I'm looking at ways to include them in future. Due to the automated filtering procces no airliner or GA, including Helicopter, movements will be included.
Times will always be in GMT Actual arrival and departure times may be a couple of minutes out, as I only see movements above the 800 feet mark.
Due to the altitude filter some overflights from and to Fairoaks will be included. Due to the altitude filter some Biz and Turbo prop movements at Blackbushe will be included.
Hopefully these will be of use.

Hi Graham
Cheers for all your hard work on this. I am sure that it will be a very useful, additional source of information for all those that use the board.
Thanks, once again, for your ongoing, and expanding, contributions.
Regards

Hi Graham Just a quick thank you for this excellent addition to the site. Have already filled a few gaps in my daily logs through your reports. Cheers Tony

No problem, Tony. With a little bit of tweaking of the code, I'm now getting all in and out movements and it's only some departing aircraft that have night stopped the previous night that I'm now not reporting on.
Am busy for the next couple of weeks so it will be early February before I can look again at how to crack this particular one.

Hi all, just a quick note to let you know I've tweaked the report generation process which should make the report more accurate. Firstly, I've now linked the cutoff height to the QNH for the day. This should remove the mis-reporting of arrivals at Northolt and Heathrow when on Easterlies and there is a high pressure over the South East. Secondly, times given are now local rather than GMT. There is another tweak on the way which I'm testing at the momement and if there isn't any problems with it, I'll put live at the end of the month. This will then give a list at the bottom of the report of the aircraft that should still be at Farnborough when the airfield closes at 22:00 (weekdays) and 20:00 (weekends). Graham

That will be most helpful. It's often easy to forget 'Hangar Queens' such as BD700 M-MICS are still lurking about.

Hi Graham
Do you have a movements report for 19th April?
Being out and about during the day, I tend to see/note a lot of movements and your reports are great for me.
Keep up the good work - It is very much appreciated
Cheers Tony

Hi all, have now completed my testing of the last major enhancement to the daily report I've been producing. From the movements I'm now "calculating" what is still at Farnborough when the airfield closes each night. This list, along with a position on the airfield if appropriate is now added to the bottom of the daily movement summary.
Hope you find this last enhancement useful.
Best regards Graham

Your lists are certainly a great help.
Incidentally, during the airshow period, presumably it'll just log the biz rather than all the other stuff, or have you got another 'filter' up your sleeve to log the airliners, display items etc...?

Might do something, have the code already set for military movement and may look at how to do Airliners, especially as I now have the issue with QNH sorted.
