Strangely, SE-RHJ appearwd to dispense with a downwind leg. One of the group present this afternoon noticed that this one had a loose engine cover after it had vacated the runway. Maybe this was the reason?

Stands to reason. I'd never seen a 'straight in' approach via the Heathrow overhead before.
