Yes, the likes of easyJet, Ryanair, Germanwings, Wizz, Wow, Norwegian and Jet2 certainly have changed the air travel landscape in Europe.
Then again, there have been a few casualties on the way - bmiBaby, Flyglobespan, SkyEurope and Windjet, to name but a few. And in the long haul sector, Laker Airways (both times) and Peoples Express, of course.
And then there are some long-gone start ups, such as Debonair and Maxjet, that had slightly different business models.
