Fighter Control is reporting that there are 2 Canadian Seakings temporarily based at Odiham. Believed to be from HMCS Athabaska currently in Portsmouth dockyard.
Not sure if they're visible from anywhere.

They are hangared, but more importantly can anyone confirm the serials seen about four different serials quoted!!
Allegedly they are both here while HMCS Athabaska has some quite major engine work carried out at Portsmouth, so not sure how long they will be here. Any advance notice of when these will be outside would be nice as I'd like to get some photos as these won't be around for much longer.

The numbers on the nose of each sea king were 419, and 429. Both are hangared.

I saw two Sea Kings landing at about one o'clock on Wednesday 7 October. Would those have been the Canadians?

I think they may be around a while, they were both undergoing maintenance today.

Canadian Seaking callsign Talon 29 just departed Odiham at 1020 heading East. Should be 12429.

I believe the other sea king has just been loaded and departed on the C-17 as it has some engineering problems.

There was an RAF C-17 present this morning. The sea king is still in the hangar, however it was on jacks with the undercarriage being worked on. The other sea king was flying around.

Hi Andrew
Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear they are both still in-situ, particularly as I've managed to miss both thus far.
Regards

I believe the one that is flying will continue to fly weekdays, however the one in the hangar is quite badly damaged after a tyre blew during inflation, fortunately no one was hurt. This is the reason they are looking to fly it out in a C-17, however there is nothing set in stone yet.
