What, unfortunately, will probably not be the only cancellation, of one of the few remaining military shows.
For the second year running the Fleet Air Arm’s premier show has been kiboshed by Covid.
Organisers have been forced to postpone International Air Day at Yeovilton – earmarked for Saturday July 10 – due to the ongoing uncertainty caused by the pandemic.
They say current government policy on large outdoor gatherings and the risks associated with hosting a large-scale international event are too great and have forced the flagship show’s cancellation again.
The air show typically draws more than 35,000 visitors from across the UK and aviation enthusiasts from around the world.
Although it’s hosted by the Royal Navy, air day pulls in military and civilian aircraft from around the globe, performing in Somerset skies or displayed on the ground for visitors to inspect and chat to crews.
Last year a ‘virtual show’ took place on line featuring footage of some of the best displays from previous events.
Organisers hope the live show will return in 2022.

I agree Andy- I think RIAT could be next to cancel, as nothing has been mentioned so far this year apart from a "Hoping" note on the website. Bob
