The advice regarding our hobby is to spot from home only- some of you already just do this anyway- but do not venture anywhere near any airports or airfields in the current climate- will take a bit of explaining to the Police when they stop you- and most of all stay safe, don't socialise, self isolate, and wash your hands. This virus is going to get worse before it gets better, and we need to help getting the latter by adhering to what the gov are asking us to do. Unfortunately there are lots of people who are not. Lets make sure be don't become one of the stats.

Fully agree with AM's comments- the only way we are going to get on top of this virus is to heed what the Government are asking us to do, and that includes staying at home. Also staying at home means that. The shops up here seem to have got it sorted with social distancing marks on the floor, and one way in one way out. But it will be interesting to see if we have similar scenes like we had last weekend, in the shops and visiting the seaside and beauty spots etc. I did see a very daft comment on one of the local aviation websites relating to Liverpool Airport- where a few of the retired local spotters meet on a daily basis- asking if they should meet up yesterday- thankfully the majority declined. On a personal note I am 68, fast approaching 69 and I am still working- just 20 hours a week, mainly outside the works. The only people I see are the delivery drivers, albeit not a lot of them. I have agreed with my boss to reduce my hours down to 12 per week working MON-WED-FRI for a couple of weeks up to Easter. Or until the Gov pull the plug altogether and put the whole country in lockdown, which lets face it could happen. As far as this weekend is concerned my beloved and myself are fully self isolating catching up on some box sets on the TV. Have got beer in the fridge, not short of food. As I type this, for the first time this week the clouds are rolling in, so anything, if anything goes OTT it won't be seen. But things can change. Stay safe, look after yourself and your families, and SPOT from HOME.Bob

To be honest, there's bugger all worth risking the health and wellbeing of yourself and others.
Whilst I can understand the frustration of those that only log aircraft if they can read their registrations / serials without any optical enhancements (surely anything else is cheating 🤪), I'm strictly OTTs at the mo. Granted, I've missed tonnes of interesting stuff at LHR and elsewhere in the last few days, but it's not a big deal.
Of course, it'd also be great to visit all the airfields being used for storage, but hey, I'll live (fingers crossed).
Stay safe all.

Well it had to happen- our works have been carrying on since the lockdown- but we have all been told as from Friday we are on furlough leave for three weeks at least. So hopefully the weather will be ok, as I will be self isolating during that time- but one good thing is I am on full pay- so only two more shifts to go. Also glad that all the lads and girls at our works are being kept on. Grim today and overcast, but worse things happen in life. Stay safe everyone- keep the faith and hopefully we will get through this nightmare- I am currently planning my aircraft trips out for 2021 as 2020 is probably over an done with aircraft wise. Bob
