Post-Shoreham, the CAA announced the following today (24/8/15).

Given that Vampires, Venoms, Meteors, Hunters, and the like, fell out of the sky with alarming regularity in the 1950s and 60s, when operated by the military and flown by full time pilots (albeit in operational circumstances), I suppose such a reaction to recent events might have been expected.
