To receive emails notifying you of posts, and other activity on the forum select:
Profile > Edit Profile > Notifications
I believe the default email notification is 'Never'. Change this to 'Instant', or whatever frequency you wish to receive emails, and 'Bob should be your Uncle'.
This then allows you select which activity on the forum you wish to receive emails for, and when.
