Updates 30/4/19 & 2/5/19
The Breitling Jet Team will be flying at this summer's Air Tattoo for the first time in five years! Most of the team are former French Air Force fighter pilots who have continued their love of display flying into their civilian careers.
Operating seven L-39 Albatros jet trainers, the Breitling Jet Team are the largest civilian aerobatic display team in Europe. They have been displaying around the world under Breitling sponsorship since 2003 and their career has so far seen them flying around Europe, the Middle East and North America.
A further 18 civilian aircraft for this year's static line up.
The majority of our updates so far have been military aircraft. Today we're pleased to announce civilian operated aeroplanes - some of which are former military machines now in private hands, whilst others are aircraft aimed at military uses but flown to the Air Tattoo by their manufacturer. This variety is unique to the Air Tattoo!
Highlights include a showcase of Textron products featuring the AT-6B Wolverine, business jets from Bombardier and Gulfstream as well as two Jet Provost trainers and Martin Baker's wonderful Gloster Meteor.
Additionally, Northrop Grumman is to debut the Firebird optionally piloted intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft at the Royal International Air Tattoo in the UK in July as it wraps up flight testing.

Update: 7/5/19
RIAT will mark 70 years of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). A special anniversary flypast is being planned to showcase NATO's air power capabilities and will feature current operational aircraft from a number of NATO member nations including the UK, Belgium, Germany and the USA. The flypast will take place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July and we hope to be able to confirm the first aircraft for the flypast very soon.
Since it was established in the early 1970s, the Air Tattoo has been committed to demonstrating the importance of the NATO Alliance. Our aim of gathering as many NATO member nations at RIAT 2019 both within the flying display and the extensive static displays, will serve to illustrate the role of NATO today.

NATO Flypast Update
We can now reveal more about the special 70th anniversary flypast being planned to showcase NATO's air power capabilities at the 2019 Air Tattoo. This will be the only official NATO flypast taking place at a UK airshow this summer.
Joining the already confirmed NATO E-3A AWACS will be aircraft from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, the USA and the UK. The additional aircraft will include F-16AM fighters from the Belgian Air Component, whilst Germany offers a substantial commitment with Eurofighter EF2000s, A400M and Tornado strike aircraft.
The Royal Danish Air Force will also contribute with F-16 fighters, whilst the United States Air Force Europe will be joining the flypast with F-15 aircraft from RAF Lakenheath. The Royal Air Force also plan to provide Typhoon fighters.
This commemorative flypast is due to take place on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 July. Where the flypast aircraft will operate from is yet to be confirmed, although it is hoped that some will be based at RAF Fairford.
