Vandals broke into Top Gear’s test track and caused £100,000 worth of damage to a Boeing 747 and three other jets.

SECURITY at Top Gear’s test track is being boosted after vandals broke in and caused £100,000 of damage.
The Boeing 747 and three other planes were sprayed with anti-Semitic graffiti and swastikas.
The thugs also smashed windows, ripped out seats and pulled panels from the ceilings of the 747 and a Vickers VC10.
The Top Gear studio at Dunsfold Aerodrome near Cranleigh, Surrey, was not hit, but extra security has been brought in to avoid a repeat rampage.
A source told The Sun: “It was absolute mayhem — a mindless binge of wanton violence.
“The thinking is they were after the parts to sell on. None of the aircraft are in a fit state to fly, but the parts could easily go for scrap.
“The cockpits were smashed up and graffiti was sprayed on the inside of the planes — swastikas, Nazi symbols and swear words. The management aren’t best pleased.”
A Dunsfold spokesman confirmed several aircraft on the site had suffered damage.
The BBC said filming for the new series began yesterday as planned.
