Air Lease has placed firm orders for 20 Boeing 737 Max 8s – with commitments spanning a further 55 – and three 787-9s.
The deal, disclosed at the Farnborough air show, has a list-price value of $9.6 billion, says Boeing.
It adds that the Los Angeles-based lessor's orders and commitments since its founding in 2010 now cover 361 Boeing aircraft: 288 737s, including 213 Max jets; 21 777s; and 52 787s.
"Demand for reliable, fuel-efficient airplanes is at an all-time high," states Air Lease's executive chairman Steven Udvar-Hazy. "The capabilities of these new airplanes continue to meet the high expectations of our growing airline customer base."
