A luxury charter company has launched in Singapore with a pair of high-end, Maltese-registered Bombardier business jets, financed through Chinese company Minsheng Financial Leasing.
OJets kick-started services on 5 April with a long-range Global 6000 (9H-OJT) and a large-cabin Challenger 650 (9H-OJJ) that were previously owned by Zetta Jet, according to Flight Fleets Analyzer. The US charter company and its Singapore subsidiary ceased operations in late 2017.
Both aircraft are on the Maltese, rather than Singaporean, register, however.
OJets plans to quadruple its fleet by the end of the second quarter, says chief financial officer Michael Ta. “This growth is underpinned by $350 million in equity and debt, and will establish OJets as a global operator with one of the newest fleets of long-range business aircraft in service," he adds.
Bombardier types will make up the first wave of fleet expansion, but OJets says other business jet platforms could be added to the line-up as demand for its services grows. “We see excellent opportunities in Asia for prospective business aviation clients with international and intercontinental travel requirements,” the company adds.
OJets is promising a “bespoke experience” through two primary models: traditional on-demand charter, designed for the occasional user; and a block-hour programme, tailored to the frequent traveller.
OJets says the latter offering comes with a personalised service, 48h-guaranteed aircraft availability at a fixed hourly rate, global coverage, and no ferry fees within its service area. “The block-hour programme will not require an initiation fee, nor will it involve monthly management fees,” says OJets. The fleet will be equipped with a host of amenities such as in-flight wi-fi, dedicated workspaces, and sleeping areas.
