Report from the Asian Defence News website
"IAF pilots are gearing up to fly their Sukhoi-30MKI "air dominance" fighters and IL-78 mid-air refuellers to the UK to take on the Royal Air Force during the "Indra Dhanush" exercise, which is scheduled for July-August."
Believe the arrival date is set for Thursday 16th July, with the SU-30s going to Coningsby and the IL-78s going to Brize Norton.

I remember when they last visited Waddington, at around the time of its airshow.
Given that the IL78s will be deploying to Brize, I wonder what the chances are that some of the hardware will make it to RIAT?

According to the RIAT website the Indian Air Force has Declined to participate, so I guess they won't be coming down from Coningsby

Shame. Still a trip to Coningsby wouldn't go a miss, particularly as I need to clear a few of their Typhoons.

Although the precise arrival details are still unknown, it is understood a C-17, C-130 and IL-78 will be based at Brize Norton and four SU-30MKIs at Coningsby.
They are expected to arrive on either 16 or 17 July and stay until 3 August.

All the Indian stuff is nightstopping in Athens (Thu 16/7).
It is believed C17 CB-8008, the C130 and Su30MKIs will arrive at Coningsby within an hour of each other tomorrow morning (circa 0915 Fri 17/7).
The C17 is due to transit to Brize lunchtime Friday. The plan for the IL78 is a little more 'sketchy', although it is suspected both it and the C130 will ultimately end up at Brize.

All still present on evening of Saturday 18/7/15.
There was also a Gulsftream present, which annoyingly due its parking position and the fading light, evaded identification.

Cheers Graham
Yes, and I've learnt it arrived at around 17:30 yesterday afternoon, so putting two and two together equals five, probably!

Although the deployment was originally pencilled in to conclude on 3 August, it now appears today is the day (Friday 31 July). Perhaps they'll arrive back in India on 3 August. www.raf.mod.uk/rafconingsby/newsweather/index.cfm?storyid=B868B583-5056-A318-A88B380DBD7E9FCBI'm glad I made the long trek up their yesterday. I'm also glad that on my way back I popped into Mildenhall. There, I caught 7 visiting KC135s, 3 visiting C130s, 2 KC10s and 2 C17s. Both C17s arrived, and one of the visiting C130s and three of the visiting KC135s departed in the hour so that I was there. V v lucky for it to be that busy.
